The finalists are Harlan Gallinger, Jessica Sawyer, Steve Sutton and Carrie Tellefson.
The district posted the vacancy in October after its Board of Directors officially acceptedΒ former Board President Jill Uddenbergβs resignation.
According to Acting Superintendent Chuck Cuzzetto, the school board interviewed all 13 candidates at a public meeting on Nov. 7.
βThe board members asked all of the candidates the same questions,β said Cuzzetto.
βThen we went into an executive session to talk about the qualifications of each of the candidates. It was based on the letters of interest weβve received and the answers to the interview questions.β
Following the executive session, Cuzzetto said the four board members talked about their preferred criteria, which included involvement and commitment to the schools and the candidatesβ complimentary skills.Β At the end of the meeting, one of the board members made a motion to narrow down to four candidates.
At the Nov. 29 Special Meeting, the four candidates will return for their second round of interview questions, which the board members will be providing. However, Cuzzetto said community members are welcome to attend and listen to the candidatesβ responses.
βI was really impressed with the number of candidates who applied and their dedication and support,β Cuzzetto said. βHow people care about our school district and want to make it even betterβ¦thatβs what came through in our interviews.β
Cuzzetto said he hopes the board will make a selection at the end of the meeting.Β
