Sewage Spill Sparks No-Contact Advisory For Sinclair Inlet
Roughly 4,000 gallons of sewage spilled into the Sinclair Inlet between March 2 and 3, prompting a no-contact advisory through March 10.
BREMERTON, WA - A 4,000-gallon sewage spill this past weekend sparked a no-contact advisory for waters around the Sinclair Inlet and the head of Port Washington Narrows, up to Lions Park, at Bremerton and Port Orchard, according to the Kitsap Public Health District. The no-contact advisory is in effect through March 10.
The advisory urges the public to avoid contact with the water; swimming, wading, and all other types of recreation involving the water near the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard is not recommended at this time, officials said in an alert.
Anyone who may expose themselves to the water in this area should immediately wash themselves with soap.
