Should Gig Harbor Allow Residents To Reserve City Ballfields?

The city will consider a pilot project that allows reservations at Crescent Creek Park.

On Monday, the Gig Harbor City Council will get its first look atΒ a pilot program that will allow people to reserve ballfields at Crescent Creek Park.

The program wouldn't involve charging a fee, but it would give staff a sense of whether reservations could work at other city parks.

The policies regarding reservationsΒ under the plan include:

  • First come, first serve
  • 1 1/2 hour time blocks; max of three per day; no more than two consecutive days
  • Field availability: Monday through Friday, noon to dusk; Saturday, 8 a.m. to dusk
If the Gig Harbor City Council approves the pilot program, staff would implement it and return next year with results.
