Smoke Inside Gig Harbor Animal Hospital Sparks Investigation
A malfunctioning heating system is to blame for a brief scare at Purdy Veterinarian Hospital in Gig Harbor Wednesday afternoon.

GIG HARBOR, WA — Just after 12 p.m. Wednesday Gig Harbor Fire tweeted that fire crews were investigating an HVAC system at an animal hospital on 62nd Avenue Northwest after light smoke was detected in the building.
According to GHF spokeswoman Tina Curran, there appears to have been a malfunction within a heating system at the Purdy Veterinarian Hospital, located at 14315 62nd Ave. NW.
"Everything is A-OK," Curran confirmed just before 12:45 p.m., shortly after crews cleared the scene.

Our crews are responding to smoke in a commercial structure on 62nd Ave. There is light smoke detected inside the animal hospital. Crews are investigating the HVAC system.
