Editor's Note: A previous version of this post identified the minor driver. Patch removed the driver's name at the request of the boy's family. Washington State Patrol shared the boy's name in the crash report it released Dec. 8. It is not typical for minors ever to be identified in police reports. Patch regrets any additional trauma this report may have caused.
