Gig Harbor units and the Fire Boat Endeavor were able to knock down and contain the fire, according to Battalion Chief, Todd D. Meyer. Early notification of 911 and the lack of wind were also helpful, he added.

Gig Harbor units returned to the area on Wednesday. Firefighters met with property owners, mopped up the scene and installed sprinklers. Meyer said the fire department will be patrolling the area for the next few days for any flare ups.
