UPDATE: Wind Storm Causing Outages, Downed Trees

Peninsula Light Company tweeted that all known outages have been restored. If you are still out of power, please call back in to the outage line at 253-853-1388.

With  only minimal damage reported, sporadic power outages  and  several roads closed in the County, the Pierce County Emergency Operations Center returned to Level 1 operations at 9 a.m. Monday, as the high winds started to die down. Level 1 means the duty officer will continue to monitor the situation.

As of 6 a.m. Monday, several Gig Harbor communities are without power due to high winds, according to Peninsula Light Company's Twitter page.

Power outages in the following areas:

• Crew heading to Ford Dr outage, 75 meters out of power
• Goodrich Drive due to down powerlines, crew in route, 160 without power
• Key Center south to Home without power including Key Peninsula Middle School
• Lakebay area - approximately 900 members out
• Sehmel/North Rosedale Warren Dr/Ford Hill area
• Goodnough, Sehmel and Woodhill

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a high wind warning until 4 p.m. Monday to Western Washington areas including Gig Harbor.

At 4 a.m. Monday, the Pierce County Emergency Operations Center opened in response to the December Windstorm. The EOC is staffed at a level two – basic staffing.
