Officer involved shooting reported during search for sexual assault suspect in Kent early Wednesday (ilovekent.net) — Kent Police and Valley SWAT arrested a 48-year-old Kent man early Wednesday after he allegedly pointed a handgun at officers during a felony sexual assault and domestic violence investigation at an apartment on SW 208th Street. No officers were shot, a small fire triggered sprinklers and evacuations, and the suspect was ultimately taken into custody with a K9 bite injury.
   

2. Green River prompts flooding, mad scramble to build barricades in Kent (komonews.com) — Flooding from the Green River is threatening homes, apartments, and a bridge in Kent this afternoon, with residents and Kent Public Works racing to reinforce temporary flood walls. Longtime neighbors along West Valley Highway are stacking sandbags and dirt barriers as water reaches levels they say they’ve never seen before, putting basements, nearby buildings, and key roads like Kent Des Moines Road at risk.
   

3. True Crime Tuesday: The disappearance of Ian Eckles (koin.com) — A Kent resident, Ian Eckles, vanished in 2020 after leaving home for a solo camping trip before a turkey hunt in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Investigators believe he was killed and link a suspect, already imprisoned for other crimes, to his presumed homicide. Authorities still haven’t found Ian’s body and are asking anyone who was in the forest then to report possible clues.
