DeLong's Deluxe - the candy-cane colored, "Happy Days"-esque stand that has been under construction for weeks - finally opened on Wednesday, according to its Facebook page.

This is the news thousands of passers-by have been waiting for. The stand at Bridgeport Way and Steilacoom Boulevard Southwest will offer an array of burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, handspun shakes, floats and sundaes.

It also will provide an open-air atmosphere for customers, which should be interesting given the Northwest's unpredictable weather. Owners Marie and Tim DeLong intend to create a casual, contemporary park-like dining experience to customers.

Shade sails that will be installed later in spring will allow outdoor seating year round in the Pacific Northwest weather, owners say.
