JBLM Joins 'Stamp Out Hunger' Letter Carriers Food Drive
The 30th annual National Association of Letter Carriers food drive will begin May 14.
LAKEWOOD, WA — Joint Base Lewis-McChord is inviting its residents to participate in the upcoming “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive.
The food drive is organized annually by the National Association of Letter Carriers. This year — the event's 30th anniversary — it will be held Saturday, May 14.
During the drive, JBLM letter carriers will be collecting food as they make their rounds. Donation bags will be given to each mail box, but residents can use any bag they'd like.

In the 30 years the Letter Carriers' have been running the drive, the union has gathered more than 1.82 billion pounds of food. Organizers say this year's drive is especially important, as the pandemic has exacerbated the need for food across the nation.
"Letter carriers are a part of every neighborhood in the nation," NALC President Fredric Rolando said, "and we see the growing need for food assistance in our communities. On Saturday, May 14, NALC invites everyone to participate in the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Together, we can help stamp out hunger in America."

Donated items should be non-perishable. More information about the drive can be found at the National Association of Letter Carriers' website.
