JBLM Resumes Mortar And Artillery Training This Week
The base has announced one more set of round-the-clock training, kicking off later this week.
LAKEWOOD, WA — Residents of Lakewood who live near Joint Base Lewis-McChord will want to prepare for some extra noise this week.
The base announced Monday that it will be conducting artillery and mortar training starting at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, running through midnight Thursday.
During artillery training, JBLM Army units fire live munitions into a designated "artillery impact area" on JBLM's main campus.

As longtime residents are no doubt aware, those artillery shells can cause some noise for the surrounding area. This week's training will run round-the-clock, so expect noise, even after dark.
