Mortar And Demolitions Training Resume This Week At JBLM
Training will begin early Tuesday and last through most of the week.
LAKEWOOD, WA — Residents of Lakewood who live near Joint Base Lewis-McChord will want to prepare for some extra noise this week.
The base announced Monday afternoon that it will be conducting mortar and demolitions training starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and lasting all the way through midnight Friday.
During mortar training, JBLM Army units fire live munitions into a designated "artillery impact area" on JBLM's main campus.

As longtime residents are no doubt aware, those artillery shells can cause some noise for the surrounding area.
