Pierce County Launches Online Sewer Billing Portal

About one sixth of the county's sewer customers will have a new bill due date as a result of the change.

TACOMA, WA — Pierce County has launched a new sewer billing portal, giving the county's 314,000 sewer customers a new way to view and pay their bills 24/7 online.

The new system comes with a host of other benefits, including:

  • Allowing customers to save their payment information for quick payment.
  • A new notification system, alert customers of pending due dates and past due reminders.
  • Allowing customers to submit service requests online when they buy or sell properties or change addresses.

Customers can still pay their bill over the phone, by calling 253-798-4020. Anyone with questions about the new system can also call that number for answers during regular business hours on weekdays.

The new portal may cause a hiccup for a few sewer customers, however. The county says that nearly 55,000 single-family residential customers will notice that their bill due dates have changed. The change only impacts customers who normally receive their sewer bill every two months, customers on a monthly billing cycle are unaffected.

The Pierce County Sewer system covers a 117 square-mile area stretching from Fife to Spanaway and down into Lakewood and Steilacoom.
