Mercer Island School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, More

MERCER ISLAND, WA — The first day of school in Mercer Island is September 5 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Mercer Island School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/5: First Day of School

November

• 11/12: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/16: Elementary Early Release (Grades K-5) and Report Card Prep
• 11/19 - 11/21: No School for Elementary Students (Elementary Conferences)
• 11/22 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Break)
• 11/30: Middle School Early Release (Grades 6-8) and Report Card Prep

December

• 12/24 - 12/31: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1 - 1/4: No School (Holiday Recess)
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/25: High School Early Release (Grades 9-12) and Report Card Prep

February

• 2/18 - 2/22: No School (Winter Recess)

March

• 3/11: Scheduled Weather Makeup Day
• 3/22: Elementary Early Release (Grades K-5) and Report Card Prep

April

• 4/8 - 4/12: No School (Spring Recess)

May

• 5/24: Scheduled Weather Makeup Day
• 5/27: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/14: Elementary Early Release (Grades K-5) and Report Card Prep
• 6/20: Last Day of School for Students
• 6/21: Scheduled Weather Makeup Day
