NYHS elects New Head of School

And more news from the Lion's Den

The Northwest Yeshiva High School Board of Directors elected Rabbi Yehuda Gabay as its next Head of School following a comprehensive national search. The Head of School Search Committee and the Northwest Yeshiva High School Board of Directors thank our wonderful community for their strong participation and helpful feedback throughout this process. They also wish to thank Jason Feld for his leadership and vision these last six years. We are looking forward to welcoming Rabbi Gabay and his family to Seattle this summer! You can read the full announcement here.

Because of your support and involvement our students, faculty, and staff are experiencing firsthand our vision, mission, and values:

  • We were fortunate to not only send a delegation to the 2023 Prizmah Center for Jewish Day Schools conference, the premier professional development event of Jewish day schools and yeshivas in North America, but see a number of NYHS Alumni that were there as colleagues!
  • We were thrilled to once again partner with the Seattle Hebrew Academy to host Yeshiva University’s Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration of “Maf-TEACH” fellows January 11-16th. It was a special treat to have our alumni Al Benoliel and Naftali Katsman (Class of 2019) return to NYHS as Maf-TEACH fellows!
  • On January 17th-18th NYHS was privileged to host Marlene W. Yahalom, PhD, Director of Education of the American Society of Yad Vashem. Our students had the opportunity to hear presentations, view exhibits and related films, and ask Dr. Yahalom questions.
  • NYHS staff, faculty, and students welcomed prospective students and their families to our Open House on January 18th. We are looking forward to a strong incoming Freshman Class!
  • Additionally, our students are very excited for the return (in person!) of both our school-wide Shabbaton (this year we will be at Snoqualmie) and our Poland-Israel Senior Capstone Experience.

We would love to have you on campus so you can see our Courage, Character, and Community in action! Please contact office@nyhs.org to schedule a visit.
