3 Arrested In South Hill Jewelry Store Robbery

Three suspects have been booked into the Pierce County Jail, accused of a jewelry store robbery that sparked a police chase Wednesday.

SOUTH HILL, WA β€” Three suspects are behind bars after a jewelry store robbery and police chase in the South Hill area early Wednesday.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, just before 11 a.m., 911 dispatchers received a call from a witness, who told them a man with a knife had just robbed a jewelry store in the 17400 block of Meridian E.

While interviewing witnesses, deputies learned that the knife-wielding suspect and two other people and hopped into a white Ford utility truck. A quick records check showed that the truck was stolen.

Not long after, deputies spotted the truck and tried to pull it overβ€” but the driver took off, and deputies followed not far behind them.

Ultimately the deputies chased the fleeing car to the intersection of Steele St S and 102nd St S in Parkland, where all three suspects jumped out of the moving car. Images from the scene show the car continued forward, crashing into a nearby ditch.

Deputies then ditched their vehicles to finish the chase on foot, and eventually rounded up all three suspects. They have been identified as a 30-year-old man, a 28-year-old woman, and 25-year-old man. All three have been booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of first degree robbery.
