• Death notices for Dec. 17 (theolympian.com) — Local families are being notified of several recent deaths across Western Washington, including 77-year-old Daryl Throw of Puyallup, who died Nov. 29 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. The notice lists ages, hometowns, places of death, and funeral providers to help friends and neighbors pay their respects or contact the appropriate funeral homes.
   

• High school girls soccer: The News Tribune's 2025 All-Area team (thenewstribune.com) — Puyallup standout forward Ella Bach has been named The News Tribune’s 2025 All-Area girls soccer Player of the Year after a 19-goal, 14-assist senior season for the Vikings. • Republican proposes fix to employees 'double dipping' taxpayer-subsidized leave (everettpost.com) — Puyallup’s own Sen. Chris Gildon is pushing a bill to stop Washington state employees from “double dipping” by collecting full paid time off and state-paid family leave at the same time. He argues this change could save taxpayer dollars as lawmakers confront a multi‑billion‑dollar deficit and debate how to avoid new statewide tax hikes.
