Fall Clean-Up Week Begins Nov. 12 In Puyallup

Between Nov. 12 and 16, Puyallup garbage utility customers can dispose of extra garbage and yard waste as well as one major appliance.

PUYALLUP, WA β€” Puyallup's Fall Clean-Up is set for next week, giving all city utility customers the opportunity to set out extra garbage and yard waste, as well as one major appliance, for pickup on their regular service days β€” at no extra cost. The Clean-Up week will run from Nov. 12 through 16, according to city officials.

For customers looking to dispense with extra garbage, the city will allow residents to leave up to three extra bags on the curbside. However, the garbage must either be in covered bins or completely enclosed in garbage bags β€” neither of which should exceed 40 pounds. And all extra garbage needs to be ready for pickup before 7 a.m. on the regular garbage service day.

Tires will not be accepted as part of the Clean-Up event.

A variety of appliances, however, will be accepted for recycling, such as refrigerators, freezers, ranges, furnaces, dryers, hot water tanks, washers, dishwashers, and/or trash compactors. All appliances must be set curbside no later than 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12.

For recycling major appliances, residents are asked to make sure the appliance's doors are shut and secured.

For extra yard waste disposal, residents are allowed to leave up to three extra containers curbside on their regular yard waste service day, officials said. Yard waste must be contained either in garbage cans or biodegradable lawn waste bags, neither of which should exceed 40 pounds. Again, all extra waste must be curbside by 7 a.m. on the regular service day.
