The cause is under investigation (thenewstribune.com) — Emergency crews responded to two house fires Wednesday morning, including one in Puyallup’s 1800 block of Tartan Court that started from a generator under an outdoor wooden structure; fortunately, no one was hurt there. Earlier, a separate manufactured-home fire in Spanaway killed an older woman, and investigators are still working to determine that blaze’s cause. 
2. Puyallup man killed in single-car crash on SR 512 in Pierce County, troopers say (thenewstribune.com) — A 29-year-old Puyallup man died Tuesday night after losing control of his car on westbound SR 512 near Pacific Avenue in Parkland, according to Washington State Patrol. Troopers say his Mazda hit a barrier, rolled multiple times, and ejected him, and they’re still investigating what caused the crash and whether impairment played a role.
3. Puyallup Tribe Donates More Than $850K to 60 Local Organizations (southsoundbiz.com) — The Puyallup Tribe is directing more than $850,000 to 60 local nonprofits, including the Puyallup School District Native Education Program and several Pierce County groups. Funded by casino revenue, these grants support everything from housing and food banks to youth programs, while encouraging more organizations—especially those serving Native people—to apply for future funding.

Pierce County juice bar abruptly closes Tacoma, Puyallup locations (thenewstribune.com) — Gather Juice has permanently closed both its Tacoma shop and its new downtown Puyallup location on North Meridian, just three months after opening there.
