Porch Pirates Caught, Cars Burgled, And Love Tested: PPD Blotter
Over the past few days several people around the city reported car break-ins and front porch package thefts in the latest log.

PUYALLUP, WA β A prolific porch pirate gets caught in the act, along with his apparent accomplices; several people report car break-ins around the city; and a handful of women are arrested for assaulting men. This is your Puyallup Police Department crime log for Nov. 28 - 30.
Theft
South Hill Mall β 3500 S. Meridian
After unintentionally leaving her personal and work cellphones in a restroom at the South Hill Mall, a woman returned to find they were gone. Police said she did not have the serial numbers for either phone.

Obstructing
Cattin's Family Dining β 105 Ninth Ave. SW
Police arrested a 38-year-old man who was allegedly waving around what appeared to be a gun in front of Cattin's Family Dining. Police demanded the man drop the object in his hand, but he initially refused.

After some time, the man apparently gave up and was arrested without further incident.
Theft from Vehicle
Willow Springs Apartments β 608 39th Ave. SW
A person reported his license plate was stolen from his off his car during the night. There are no suspects or evidence in this case.
Assault
Linden Grove Health Care Center β 400 29th St. NE
A 58-year-old man assaulted a 47-year-old man "by throwing a cup at him," police said. One of the men is a nurse; the other is a patient who is recovering from a stroke. The incident was reportedly documented.
Theft from Vehicle
1100-block of River Road
Two people using the same vehicle for carpooling reported having their laptops stolen from the car. The victims had reportedly hid the laptops, to no avail. Neither victim had a serial number for their respective laptop. There are no suspects or evidence in this case.
Assault
1700-block of 13th Street Southeast
A 28-year-old woman allegedly hit a 51-year-old man in the face, knocking him unconscious. The man was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, but the woman ran off and has not been found.

Walmart β 310 31st Ave. SE
A woman told police her 15-year-old son was assaulted by Walmart employees after they caught the boy shoplifting. A review of Walmart surveillance footage reportedly did not support the woman's accusation. The case was forwarded to the district prosecutor.
Vehicle Theft
Walmart β 310 31st Ave. SE
Following her release from jail, a woman reported to police that her blue 2002 Dodge Caravan was stolen from the parking lot where she'd left it before her incarceration. The woman reportedly believes it was an associate of hers who knew where the extra keys to vehicle had been hidden.
Trespassing
Fred Meyer β 1100 N. Meridian
A 43-year-old man who was previously trespassed from Fred Meyer returned to the store. He was cited.
Theft, Fraud
300-block of 35th Avenue Southeast
A man whose wallet was stolen after he accidentally left it on the roof of his car later learned his credit card was used at Home Depot.
Victim left his wallet on the roof of his vehicle this morning and it was stolen. The suspect used his credit card at The Home Depot. Investigators are currently awaiting security camera video from the store.
Trespassing, Drugs, Warrants
900-block of 40th Avenue Southwest
A 29-year-old man was arrested after police found him inside a fenced-in, burned-out building. The man, who was reportedly looking to steal scrap metal, was carrying methamphetamine.
Burglary
1400-block of Third Street Southeast
Two white men thought to be in their mid-20s were reportedly caught on camera stealing a CCTV monitor on Nov. 17. They're also observed fleeing the scene in a mid-2000s BMW, but the video was not good enough to make out a license plate, police said.
Suspicious Circumstances
400-block of 15th Avenue Southeast
A 29-year-old man with an apparent stab wound on his arm refused to cooperate with police who questioned him at Good Samaritan Hospital. The man claimed the injury came from a fence he was attempting to climb at a friend's house, but he would not provide any details of where the injury occurred or who the driver was in the black Cadillac Escalade that left him at hospital.
Police searched for but did not locate the Escalade.
Theft
South Hill Mall β 3500 S. Meridian
A 21-year-old female Buckles employee reportedly left the store with its daily earnings to make a bank deposit, but neither the woman nor the money ever made it to the bank.
Police say the woman no longer works for Buckles and efforts to get in touch with her have not yet borne fruit.

1000-block of Second Avenue Northwest
A package of dishes from Macy's was reportedly stolen from a woman's porch. She captured the theft on her home surveillance cameras.
Possess Stolen Firearm/Theft
Walmart β 310 31st Ave. SE
Walmart employees stopped a man and woman for shoplifting. When police arrived the pair was searched. The officer who conducted the search reportedly found a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol in one of their backpacks. The pistol was previously reported stolen in Tacoma.
The man said the pistol was his; the woman said she knew it was in the backpack. Both individuals were taken to Pierce County Jail.
Elude/Possession of Stolen Property
1300-block of 34th Street Southeast
An officer was dispatched after receiving reports of a man possibly stealing packages from porches. The man and his two female passengers were reportedly associated with a white Mercedes sedan that had previously been seen committing similar crimes around the county.
When the officer arrived in the area and was spotted by the suspect, the man fled. Speeding through the neighborhood, the man began passing other cars on 23rd Avenue Southeast while his partners chucked packages through the windows of the moving car.
The officer eventually caught up to the car and arrested the man and one of the women who was with him. The man reportedly was also carrying meth. The third woman was not found.
Police contacted the intended recipients of the numerous packages they recovered from the incident.

The victim said a duffel bag filled with various things was stolen from their car when the driver side window was busted out. Police do not have any suspect information.

The victim said a backpack was stolen from their car when the driver side window was smashed. Police do not have any suspect information.

The victim said a computer and coat were stolen from their car when the passenger side window was smashed. Police do not have any suspect information.
Domestic Violence (DV) Assault
400-block of Valley Avenue Northeast
A woman who returned home to find her husband unconscious next to a bottle of vodka reportedly became angry and punched the man in the face several times. The man is said to have had previous alcohol issues. The woman was arrested.
Theft from Vehicle
600-block of South Hill Park Drive
A man told police his utility trailer had been burglarized, with miscellaneous hand tools stolen. Police do not have any suspect information or evidence.
Court Order Violation
2500-block of 32nd Avenue Southeast
A Puyallup man with a No Contact Order involving a woman told police the woman was violating the order by having other people contact him. The woman denied the accusation. Police forwarded the case to the district prosecutor.
DV Assault/Mal Mischief/Exposing Minor to DV
1500-block of 18th Street Northwest
A drunk woman who was reportedly arguing with her boyfriend became violent, punching the man β who is also the father of her kids. She reportedly also assaulted her sister who tried to intervene. The entire incident occurred in the presence of three young children.
"The female was placed on Santaβs naughty list and booked in to jail," police said.
Theft
Fred Meyer β 1100 N. Meridian
The license plate on a Chevy Suburban was stolen while the vehicle was backed to the Riverwalk Trail located behind Fred Meyer, police said. There is no suspect information for this case.
UPCS/False Statement/DWLS/Warrant
500-block of 31st Avenue Southwest
Two men who were arrested during a traffic stop reportedly both had warrants in Pierce County and meth on their persons. One of the men also reportedly tried to lie about his identity to conceal his warrant.
