Honda Civic lost (and found), a drunken Walmart shopper falls asleep on the toilet, and a shoplifter reveals her secrets in this week's log.

PUYALLUP, WA β An ex-husband breaks into his former wife's home and steals a very personal item, a Honda Civic is stolen (then recovered), and a 17-year-old boy learns that changing ones clothes to hide ones true identity only works for Clark Kent; this is your Puyallup Police Department crime log for Nov. 24 through 27.
Theft from Vehicle
1600-block of East Main Avenue
Sometime overnight someone broke into the victimβs vehicle and stole his stereo and speakers. Unknown how entry was made. There are no suspects or evidence.
Fraud
1200-block of Ninth Avenue Northwest

Victim reported that a person pretending to be an IRS agent contacted him and told him to purchase a $300 gift card or he would be arrested. The victim did this and the person then told him he needed to purchase another gift card.
When the victim went to purchase the second gift card the clerk asked him about it. The victim told the clerk what was going on and she informed him that he was being scammed. The phone number is from Pennsylvania.
Fail to Obey, Reckless Driving
Fourth Street Northwest and River Road
Two officers contacted a 23-year-old male after he had committed several moving violations. He was told to pull over. He refused and took off, driving recklessly. An officer stopped him by the high school and he was booked.
Court Order Violation

An officer contacted a suspicious vehicle that was occupied by a male and female. There were both Puyallup and Pierce County No Contact Orders in place, which listed the male as the respondent. He was arrested and was found to have one prior conviction for violating the order.
He was booked into Puyallup Jail.
DV Assault/Failure to Register Violation
3000-block of East Main Avenue
A female reported that her boyfriend had assaulted her six days earlier. The delay in reporting was apparently due to her fear of retribution. The male, who is a registered sex offender out of Tacoma, was also apparently not living where he is registered. He could not be located. Report to MCU.
DUI Collision
2600 Shaw Road
A female was driving her vehicle when she collided with a barrier at the Shaw Road construction site and damaged a private fence within the work area. She was ultimately arrested for DUI and provided BAC samples of .184, .190, .179 and .183. She was booked into Puyallup Jail.
MVTR
333 S. Meridian β City Hall
A dark green Honda Civic was stolen from the east parking lot between 4 and 10:17 p.m. The vehicle is lowered, has silver rims, and has a large βCivicβ sticker on the front windshield. It was entered as stolen.
Felony Warrant
200-block of 35th Avenue Southeast
An officer was on a security check and contacted a suspicious vehicle. One of the occupants, a male, was found to have multiple felony warrants. He was also found to have someone elseβs debit card, which the officer will follow up on. He was arrested and booked into PCJ.

2000-block of Seventh Avenue Southwest
An officer contacted a stolen vehicle at Decoursey Park. The driver refused commands and took off. A short pursuit ensued, and the vehicle was pinned on West Pioneer. The driver, a 17-year-old male, fled on foot.
Thinking he was being crafty he changed his clothes and attempted to walk out of the area. Unfortunately for him he was identified by an officer and taken into custody.
Theft, Shoplift, Trespassing
Walmart and Safeway
1405 E. Main β Safeway
A 26-year-old male successfully shoplifted alcohol from Walmart earlier in the shift and fled the store. He is a prolific alcohol thief and Walmart LP identified him along with his three previous Trespass notices.
Later in the shift, he made his way to the Safeway on East Main and attempted to steal $109 more in Vodka. He was detained by a customer during flight from the store. He was booked.
Trespassing
310 31st Ave. SE β Walmart
A 39-year-old male passed out inside the Walmart restroom due to his level of intoxication during the shopping frenzy.
Unfortunately for the poor fella heβd also been previously trespassed by loss prevention. CPFR transported the male to the hospital due to his medical needs, so he was cited and released.
Motor Vehicle Theft
608 Ninth Ave. SW
Sometime last night the victimβs white Honda Civic was taken. No suspect information. Vehicle has purple dash lights. Vehicle was entered as stolen.
ID Theft
South Hill Mall
On Nov. 10 the victim made a purchase at Ulta. A few hours later he received notice that a credit card for Ulta had been approved; however, he had not filled out an application for a card.
On Nov. 20 he received notification from the USPS about tracking numbers for orders he did not make. The orders were cancelled. Info only at this time.
Shoplifting (with extenuating circumstances)
Macyβs
A female admitted to coming to Macyβs to steal items. She had a foil lined bag that she explained was used to defeat security devices. She was booked into county.
DUI
1900 E. Main
A male driver was stopped on East Main for speeding and no signal turn. Determined to be impaired by alcohol. Draeger readings of .224 and .228 and he was admin booked.
Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance / ID Theft / Vehicle Recovery (and much more)
Holiday Inn
The plate reader hit on a vehicle in the parking lot. An officer found that the vehicle was still warm but unoccupied. He began the recovery process and found fake credit cards, credit cards in the process of being created, drugs, and a fake passport in the vehicle. He stopped and rather than just impounding the vehicle, did some digging into which room the vehicle was associated with.
Officers attempted contact at the room and heard people inside who refused to come out. The officer authored a search warrant for the room while the squad held it down.
The folks inside still refused to come out when the announcement was made prior to entry. Lots of evidence was located inside along with a large number of drugs.
CDO was notified for a detective callout. Detective responded to process the mountain of credit card fraud, drug and stolen property evidence located in both the room and the vehicle.
DUI
1000 39th Ave. SE
A 33-year-old male was stopped for driving without headlamps. He was impaired and blew over .08 on both samples. He was booked.
Shed Burglary
1500-block of 23rd Avenue Southwest
On Thanksgiving night between 6 and 7 p.m., someone cut a hole through the metal siding and gained access to the shed. Nothing appeared taken. No suspect information.
Theft of Firearm
300-block of 43rd Avenue Southeast
On Nov. 23, at around 4 p.m, the victim left the keys to his vehicle inside his gym bag in the locker room (unsecured), and while he was showering some unknown suspect took his car keys and prowled his vehicle which was parked in the lot.
The keys were left on the floor of the vehicle after the prowler had prowled the vehicle. He said the only thing taken was a Smith and Wesson .380 which was in the trunk of the car. The firearm serial number was reported as stolen.
Due to the camera system being replaced at the YMCA there is no video of the prowler and no suspect info.
Attempt Commercial Burglary
111 23rd St. SE
At around 12:21 p.m. on Nov. 24 a blue sedan attempted to gain access to J&L Fabricating by ramming a garage door. No access was made and $1,500 in damage was done to the door.
A similar event happened several weeks ago involving a red pickup, but no one reported it. Video was obtained and entered into evidence.

1200 River Trail NE
An 0fficer contacted a male who lied about his name to conceal a DOC warrant. The male then tried to run from the officer but was impeded by several blackberry bushes. He was booked.
Recovery
Willow Springs Apartments
The automatic license plate reader found our stolen white Honda Civic, unoccupied at this location. The owner responded and took his vehicle back.
Malicious Mischief
300 Third St. SE
An unknown white male wearing a hoodie slashed the street side tires of a vehicle parked on the west curb at this location. He was not located.
Burglary/Theft
100-block of 23rd Street Southeast
At around 7:07 a.m., a white Chevrolet pickup pulled up to a large car hauler trailer owned by the business. The occupant(s) of the truck then broke into the trailer and stole numerous items. Video was obtained.
Unlawful Possession of Narcotics / Warrant
3511 Fifth St. SE β Loweβs
While patrolling the parking lot of Loweβs, an officer observed a suspicious vehicle that was registered to a 29-year-old male. The male had a Puyallup warrant. The male was contacted and taken in to custody without incident.
A search after the arrest located methamphetamine and paraphernalia. He was booked into our jail.
Residential Burglary / Vehicle Prowl / DV
330-block of Third Street Southeast
A 36-year-old male is living next door to his ex-wife. His roommate found a box of items that he believed to be his ex-wifeβs in the house where he was living.
The victim came over and confirmed that several DVDs, a fishing pole, electronics and a personal massager were hers and had been stolen from her house. She believes that he is scaling the front porch and entering the house through a window. She confronted him, and he admitted in texts that he had taken the items.

Attempted Burglary
Lighthouse Christian Church
At 10:26 p.m. the front door alarm went off three times. Officers responded and found the front doors pried but not opened. No entry was gained. The doors were secured by a keyholder.
Theft
Walmart
Between 2 and 10 p.m. the victimβs bike was stolen after his lock was cut. The red and white mountain bike had been parked out front.
Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
McDonaldβs South Hill
A 23-year-old male was found passed out in his vehicle with a meth pipe in his hand. He was cited for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Shoplifting / UPCS / DOC Warrant
Macyβs
A 29-year-old female shoplifted from Macyβs with meth in her possession and a DOC warrant. She was booked into county. All items recovered.
Vehicle Prowl
4600-block of South Meridian
Between 11 and 11:30 a.m. an unknown subject prowled a vehicle parked in the lot. There wonβt be access to the video until Wednesday.
Assault
700-block of East Pioneer
Dayshift responded to an assault at the end of shift. Grave responded and took a 15-year-old male into custody for assaulting his mom. They wanted him arrested and he was booked.
Order Violation
2600-block of Rainier Boulevard
The victim observed someone following and videoing him as he went about his business. The male was confronted and flippantly stated that the respondentβs lawyer hired him as a βget aroundβ to the order. Case referred to prosecutor for review.

Walmart
A 57-year-old female stole items from Walmart. She had a Federal Way warrant and was booked into PPD Jail.
