ORIGINAL POST:

A fresh round of snowfall hit Redmond late Tuesday morning and prompted the city to close roadways around town.

As of 1 p.m., the city had closed Northeast 104th Street between Avondale Road Northeast and 184th Avenue Northeast; 166th Avenue Northeast between Northeast 83rd and 100th streets; and the southbound lanes of 148th Avenue Northeast between Willows Road and Redmond Way.

The city has asked residents follow its Twitter feed, AM 1650 and RCTV (Comcast 21/Frontier 34) for snow-related information. Live street cameras are also available on the city's website.

Here is a safety reminder email sent out Tuesday morning by Jim Bove, community outreach facilitator for the :

Dear Redmond Community and Friends,

With the winter weather predictions for this week, just a reminder that in the event of inclement weather or other ongoing emergencies/disasters, you can obtain updates at:

Radio: AM 1650

TV: RCTV (Comcast 21/Frontier 34)

Website: www.redmond.gov

Also, Public Works “tweets” road closures and their site also has information regarding snow removal. As usual, if it’s suggested not to drive unless absolutely necessary….please don’t drive unless it’s absolutely necessary. There is a reason that information is relayed. Also on the Public Works website, you can check the city’s 24/7 live camera feeds to check traffic and road conditions. The Snow and Ice Removal site can be accessed from the main redmond.gov website or by clicking here: http://www.redmond.gov/Transportation/StreetOperations/SnowandIceRemoval/

Be safe,

Jim
