City to Begin Accepting Applications for Tourism Grants
Cultural, historical, educational and community organizations are invited to apply for matching funds.

Applications for 2012 matching grants through the city's tourism fund will become available this Friday, Sept. 30, the city announced Tuesday.
Grants will be awarded to fund projects that promote tourism in Redmond. Cultural, historical, educational and community organizations are invited to apply.
Funding for the matching grants comes from a 1-percent sales tax on hotel rooms located in Redmond. The grants will be awarded for up to 50 percent of the total cost of the project.
The Redmond Lodging Tax Advisory Committee will use the city's tourism promotion funding criteria to evaluate the applications. The Redmond City Council will approve the grants and award them in December.
