All children and young adults between the ages of 12 and 24 are invited to participate in a free heart screening from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. next Wednesday, Oct. 5, at . The event is being organized by the <a href="http://nickoftimefoundation.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Nick of Time Foundation</a>, a group that seeks to prevent Sudden Cardiac Arrest in young people. The organization was formed to honor 16-year-old <a href="http://nickoftimefoundation.org/notf/nicks-story/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Nicholas Varrenti</a>, a high school athlete who suffered SCA and died in 2004. <a href="http://nickoftimefoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/NoTF_History-Permission-2011.pdf" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Screening forms</a> for the checks are available on the foundation's website. Completed forms can be returned to the front office at Redmond High or emailed to appt@nickoftimefoundation.org.
