The distinctive red-and-yellow buses will be running without passengers around Redmond this Thursday and Friday.
Redmond residents might spot some unfamiliar red-and-yellow buses later this week as King County Metro performs test runs of its new on Thursday and Friday.
The new routes, which begin Oct. 1, are part of the transit agency's new RapidRide service, which provides more frequent service in busy areas. The B Line will run between the Bellevue Transit Center and Redmond Transit Center with 10 stops between the Overlake Transit Center and the end of the line in downtown Redmond. (Click here for map.)
During this week's "pre-service testing," workers will be running 12 RapidRide buses through all the B Line's stops and stations for up to 20 hours each day. No passengers will be allowed to board the buses.
