Senior Center Offers Classes to Help Reduce Falls
The new six-week program begins Oct. 3

The will begin offering a new series of classes this fall that are designed to help older adults avoid serious falls.
The free classes begin Oct. 3 and will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays through Nov. 9. The program is sponsored by the senior center, and Evergreen Healthcare.
The classes will be conducted by a licensed physical therapist and include an initial assessment, a biweekly group exercise class for six weeks and a final assessment.

Participation is limited to those who are 50 or older, able to walk 150 feet without a cane or walker and able to walk without the assistance of others. Participants must also consult with a doctor to ensure they are healthy enough to participate.
