October Recreation Activities for All Ages
Find out what's happening in Rentonfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
This fall, enjoy unique programming options brought to you by the city’s Recreation and Neighborhoods Division! Since we are still in Phase 2 of the Governor’s Safe Start Washington Plan, programming looks a bit different this year. However, there are still plenty of options for youth, teens, seniors and the whole family.
Programs range from virtual meet-ups, multi-sport camps, Halloween Drive-Through, coffee talk and more. Don’t forget to register and secure your spot!

Parks and Trails Survey
You still have a chance to submit feedback on our Parks and Trails survey before it closes on September 30. We want to improve your outdoor experiences in Renton. Please take this quick survey and give us your feedback on city parks and trails. The survey is open for anyone who has visited city parks and trails. If you have any questions, contact Cailín Hunsaker, our Parks and Trails Director.

Last Farmers Market
Our last farmers market of the 2020 season occurs from 2 to 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, September 29, in downtown Renton (S 3rd St. and Logan Ave. S.) Please note the time change due to the loss of daylight. Local farmers need our support now more than ever. Please remember to wear your mask and practice social distancing while inside the market. See you there!

Submit Your 2020 Census Now
There's still time to submit your 2020 Census. Right now, the Census is scheduled to end on Wednesday, September 30. We want every household in Renton to be counted to ensure an accurate representation of our city and funding for vital resources and community programs. If you have not submitted your Census, you can fill it out online or over the phone by calling 844-330-2020 (English) or 844-468-2020 (Spanish).
To help promote the Census, we’ve partnered with Voice of Planet to launch a slogan contest! The theme is “Time is Running Out to be Counted” as we wrap up our final push for Census completion. Create a slogan on paper or canvas, or have kids in your community decorate high-traffic areas with Census messages, then email a photo of your entry by September 30 at 7 p.m.

Wastemobile Coming to Renton
Safely dispose of your household hazardous waste with the Wastemobile at McLendon Hardware in Renton (440 Rainier Avenue South) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., October 9 to 11. For a list of accepted materials, visit King County’s website. Whenever possible, our Solid Waste Utility Division suggests choosing safer methods and products that minimize risk to you and your family.
