Veterans Day is Wednesday, Nov. 11 (City offices closed)

This Wednesday is Veterans Day, the day we honor and remember those men and women who have served or are serving in our armed forces. We owe them our thanks for preserving the freedoms we enjoy today. Please take time, not just on Veterans Day but throughout the year, to show your appreciation.

We also salute Renton’s Frank R. Vaise VFW Post 1263 and Auxiliary. For the past 80 years, their belief that “every day is Veterans Day” means we will never forget the sacrifices made by our servicemen and servicewomen.

In honor of Veterans Day, all city offices will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Age-Friendly Renton Community Survey

We are thinking about the future, and that includes an increased senior population. We're committed to providing well-planned resources for our older adults to engage in social, civic and educational activities. Our designation as an "Age-Friendly City" by AARP is just the beginning of our work. We now want your input.

Go to rentonwa.gov/seniorsurvey to take the Age-Friendly Renton Community Survey. It covers housing, transportation, outdoor spaces and services. Survey results will help guide policies for all our residents. The survey will be available through Nov. 20 and takes less than 15 minutes. Email recreation@rentonwa.gov to request a printed copy in English, Spanish or Vietnamese.

The show features a welcoming "Happy" video from residents, members of the Mayor’s Inclusion Task Force, and city staff. Don’t miss it!
