Virtual Activities

We're in the first week of Campin' Out! This four-week series features outdoor-themed activities designed for inside or outside. Activities can be streamed on the Community Services Facebook page or via Zoom. Click here for this week's list and Zoom information.

Campin’ Out will have a different theme each week.

This week, our Community Services Department, Recreation and Neighborhoods Division has a packed schedule, featuring a read and sing along, virtual yoga, free s’mores kit pickup, camp charcuterie and more.

Last week, we had our first night of Trivia Tuesday! We had nearly 200 participants on 93 teams join us to test their Fourth of July knowledge. The next Trivia Tuesday will be July 14 at 6:30 p.m. for "World of Disney" night, as we test your knowledge on all things Disney! Get your family together and join us from the comfort of your home. We will post registration information here next Tuesday morning. You will be placed in a waiting room until trivia begins at 6:30 p.m.

All virtual programming is free and open to all.

Make Renton Count in the 2020 Census

Only 69.2 percent of Renton households have filled out the 2020 census. It is crucial that everyone in Renton is counted so we have access to vital resources like hospitals, schools, transportation, public policy and more. Take 10 minutes and fill out the census by mail, phone or for the first time, online. Learn more about the census and its impact to Renton.

Mask Pickup at Renton Community Center

We are in the process of giving out 20,000 masks to the Renton community! Distributions are Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. or Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Renton Community Center throughout July or until our supply is exhausted. On our first day last week, our Community Services Department, Recreation and Neighborhoods Division gave out 4,250 masks. Residents should drive to the community center's main entrance to pick up two five-mask packets to each vehicle. No I.D. required and please, only one trip through. Seniors picking up lunches at the Renton Senior Activity Center will also receive masks.

Pop-Up Blood Drives in Renton

We only have two pop-up blood drives left. Our community blood supply is at a dangerous level, and all types are urgently needed. Anyone who donates to Bloodworks NW by July 31 will be entered to win a Peloton Bike! Donate by July 11 and get double entries. Renton Community Church (316 S. 3rd St.) will host both pop-ups: Wednesday, July 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, July 10, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments are required and can be made online.

Council Updates

During last night’s council meeting, the city council unanimously approved the mayor's proclamation making July Parks and Recreation Month. Here in Renton, we have a wide variety of parks that add to our community's well-being. All parks and trails are currently open, but require proper social distancing and face coverings if social distancing cannot be maintained.
