Pedestrian Dead, 12 Injured After Metro Bus Crashes Into Seattle Building: FD
One of the injured people is in critical condition, Seattle Fire officials said.
SEATTLE, WA — A pedestrian is dead and another person in critical condition after a crash caused a bus to slam into a building in central Seattle, fire officials said. Eleven other people were injured as the car hit the King County Metro bus, which was forced into the building, according to officials.
The crash took place around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of 5th Avenue and Battery Street, in the city's Belltown section, said the Seattle Fire Department.The pedestrian was outside the building when the bus left the road, according to police. Fire officials said the person died at the scene.
Seattle Fire officials extricated the driver of the vehicle, who is listed in critical condition.

Firefighters searched the building and confirmed no one was inside the section that the bus hit, officials added.
