Amtrak Cascades Seattle-Vancouver Route Returns In September
Amtrak on Wednesday announced the date for restoring service between Seattle and British Columbia for the first time since 2020.
SEATTLE — Amtrak will restore its Seattle-Vancouver, B.C., service late next month, welcoming passengers back to the route for the first time since it was suspended in the early days of the pandemic.
Transportation agencies in Washington, Oregon and Canada will work with Amtrak to restore one daily roundtrip between the Emerald City and British Columbia, stopping at five stations along the way, on Sept. 26.
The first Cascades train will depart Seattle's King Street Station at 7:45 a.m. and arrive at Vancouver's Pacific Central Station at 11:45 a.m. Southbound trains will leave Vancouver at 5:45 p.m. and arrive back in Seattle at 10:10 p.m. Amtrak plans to add a second daily trip as soon as their staffing and equipment levels can accommodate the expansion.
