July 4th 2022 Grocery Store Hours: What’s Open In Washington

Here's where to grab those last-minute staples for your Independence Day barbecue in the Evergreen State.

SEATTLE — It’s nearly the 4th, which means it’s time to break out the grills, charcoal, lemonade and sparklers for a festive Fourth of July barbecue.

From burgers to brisket to hot dogs, the Fourth of July is the perfect time to gather with friends and family to celebrate the birth of our country over delicious food and a refreshing drink.

But, like all gatherings, the host is bound to forget something. Whether you’re short a package of buns or forgot to grab your favorite deli salad, plenty of grocery stores are open in Washington for those last-minute items.

As always, it's best to call ahead to check your local store's hours before heading out.

Here are the Fourth of July hours for grocery stores for Western Washington:

Albertsons: Most stores are open on the Fourth of July; however, some pharmacies may be closed or have adjusted hours. Check with your local store to confirm.

Costco: All warehouses will be closed on July 4.

CVS: Many CVS pharmacies, including 24-hour locations, will be open regular hours on July 4, although some pharmacy hours may be reduced or locations closed for the holiday. Call ahead to your local store or visit cvs.com to confirm hours.

Fred Meyer: Most Kroger stores will be open on Independence Day for regular hours, but select locations will operate from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Metropolitan Market: Stores will have their normal operating hours of 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

QFC: Most Kroger stores will be open on Independence Day for regular hours, but select locations will operate from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Rite Aid: A majority of locations will be open with varying hours of operation. Customers should check Rite Aid’s website for hours at their preferred location.

Safeway: Most stores are open on the Fourth of July; however, some pharmacies may be closed or have adjusted hours. Check with your local store to confirm.

Sam’s Club: Locations will be open until 6 p.m. on July 4.

Target: Most locations will be open regular hours on July 4.

Trader Joe’s: Stores will close at 5 p.m. on July 4.

Walgreens: Walgreens stores will be open during regular business hours on the Fourth of July. Pharmacies not open 24 hours per day will have modified hours. Use the Walgreens store locator to check local store and pharmacy hours.

Walmart: Most stores and Neighborhood Markets will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the Fourth of July.

Whole Foods: Stores will be open, but hours may be limited and will vary by location. Customers should visit wholefoodsmarket.com/stores and select their preferred store for updates on hours.
