Lake Washington Boat Crash Hospitalizes 5
Seattle firefighters rushed to Lake Washington twice over the weekend for separate boat crashes.

SEATTLE — Seattle medics had a busy weekend on the water, responding to two separate boat crashes on Lake Washington, including one incident that landed several people in the hospital. According to the Seattle Fire Department, five people were hospitalized in stable condition after two boats collided Saturday evening near the State Route 520 bridge.
As KING 5 reports, police are still searching for the larger vessel that ran over a speedboat.
The next afternoon, firefighters rushed back to the lake after a jet ski and boat collided near Seward Park. Fire officials said the boat was 75 percent submerged in the water by the time crews cleared the scene, and all occupants were able to swim to shore.

"Boating collisions are a rare occurrence, but as we saw this weekend, they happen and can have major consequences," Seattle Fire wrote Monday. "We recommend the following safety tips: if you are boating during evening hours, ensure everyone is wearing a life jacket, especially when traveling. Have the boat lights on so other boat drivers can see you. Always be aware of your surroundings when on jet skis or boats, leave plenty of space between you and other boaters."
