SEATTLE, WA — A 23-year-old woman died from her injuries Tuesday after a Seattle police officer hit her while driving in the city's South Lake Union neighborhood Monday night.

In an updated blotter post Tuesday, the Seattle Police Department said the unnamed officer was driving a marked patrol SUV to a priority one call when they struck a pedestrian near Dexter Avenue North and Thomas Street. Responding officers found the woman with life-threatening injuries just after 8 p.m. and performed CPR until Seattle Fire medics arrived, police said.

Medics continued life-saving efforts and transported the woman to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. On Tuesday afternoon, the department confirmed the victim died from her injuries at the hospital.
