Woman Killed In University District Stabbing, Ex-Husband Arrested
Police say a 44-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her ex-husband in a University District apartment Thursday.
SEATTLE, WA — A 44-year-old woman has died, and her 58-year-old ex-husband has been arrested and accused of her murder after a stabbing Thursday in Seattle's University District.
The Seattle Police Department confirms their officers were called to a University District apartment in the 4500 block of 16th Avenue NE just before 9 a.m. Thursday.
When they arrived, officers found a woman who had been stabbed and in critical condition, as well as a man who they say had been restrained by another person in the department. Officers say they believe detained man, the woman's 58-year-0ld ex-husband attacked her in an apparent domestic violence incident.

Seattle Fire Department medics were called to take the woman to Harborview Medical Center, but she died shortly after her arrival at the hospital. As a result, police say her ex-husband has been booked into the King County Jail and is under investigation for murder, however the investigation into this case is still ongoing.
