1. Sequim program uses grant for utilities, rent (sequimgazette.com) — Sequim Community Aid is using a Peninsula Home Fund grant to boost rent and utility help for families within the Sequim School District, raising its maximum assistance to $350 per household. Demand is surging, with many first-time clients facing higher utility costs, medical issues, and reduced federal energy aid, while donations from across the Peninsula keep the program going.
   

2. Shoe with human remains found on Sequim beach (peninsuladailynews.com) — Human remains were discovered inside a shoe on the beach at Marly Nelson County Park near Port Williams, after a Sequim resident called 911 Tuesday morning. Clallam County deputies and the coroner have taken custody of the shoe, described as a customized white Puma sneaker, and are considering advanced DNA testing to help identify the person.
   

3. Car fire extinguished at Sequim gas station (sequimgazette.com) — A quick-thinking bystander and Clallam County Fire District 3 crews kept a car fire at the Sequim Safeway fuel station from threatening the gas pumps or injuring anyone. Firefighters from Sequim Station 34 arrived within minutes, knocked down the flames, and Sequim police helped clear the disabled vehicle.
   

4. WSDOT Lays Out Timeline for 101 Roundabouts and Spring Hood Canal Bridge Closures (myclallamcounty.com) — Drivers between Port Angeles and Sequim should expect major changes on US 101, as WSDOT moves a repaving and safety project with two new roundabouts into engineering, aiming for construction in summer 2027. Officials also plan two to three weeks of mostly overnight Hood Canal Bridge closures next May to replace key center-lock hardware and improve long-term reliability.
