Help Shoreline Firefighters Raise Funds For Annual Toy Drive

Last year, the department was able to reach 600 families with help form the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park community.

SHORELINE, WA - You can help the Shoreline Fire Department continue its 40-year tradition of helping local families celebrate the holidays with items like toys, clothing, and books.

The department recently opened its 2016 toy fund drive, and is asking for help raising $5,000. As of Wednesday, the department had raised about $800 toward the drive.

The department has been involved in holiday donations for decades. The tradition began with the department delivering toys and turkeys on fire engines. Over the years, groups like the Rotary Club of Lake Forest Park, the Dale Turner Family YMCA, the Shoreline PTA Council, Hopelink, and the City of Shoreline have chipped in.
