Neighbors will mark the longest night with reflection, gentle contemplative practices, and simple songs, with organizers asking attendees to dress warmly and RSVP in case weather forces a last‑minute location change.
   

• CPR/AED Certification Class hosted by Shoreline Fire January 14, 2026 (shorelineareanews.com) — Shoreline Fire Department is offering a free CPR/AED class on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 6–8 p.m. at Station 51 in nearby Kenmore. Residents can learn adult, child, and infant CPR, AED use, and choking relief, with an optional paid certification card available by pre‑registering.
   

• Storage unit thieves caught and released (shorelineareanews.com) — Two suspects were caught trying to break into a storage unit on Aurora Avenue in Shoreline after the manager spotted them on surveillance and called 911, prompting a quick police response and K9 search. Both men, who have extensive prior records, were charged with burglary and related offenses, then later released from jail after bail was set at $10,000 each.
