It’s Library Card Sign-up Month and the perfect time to get a library card for kids heading back to school! Also this month, learn about Calculated Risks for Business. Or dig in to planning your spring garden with a fall cleanup. Test your knowledge and enjoy some lively trivia. If you or a family member are college bound, get help filling out the FAFSA. Don’t miss out on learning how to make changes to your Medicare coverage for next year. Discover the latest wonderful picture books you can read with the children in your life. We’re looking for Volunteers for National Voter Registration Day. And everyone is encouraged to update and verify their voter registration information on September 28. With your library card, you get access to live, online tutoring every day with HelpNow and to loads of digital resources to help students study in our Digital Library. You can download and read eBooks, magazines, and comics. Stream music, movies, and interactive picture books. Oh, and our digital resources are always free. The Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) shares where you can find financial aid opportunities, how to apply, when to apply, where to get help, and what your next steps should be as you prepare for college. Tuesday, Sep 28, 1–2pm | REGISTER Voter Registration Drive Volunteer Training for National Voter Registration Day Volunteer to make sure every citizen has the opportunity to vote. Volunteers like you, along with library staff, are available at our libraries on National Voter Registration Day to help people update their voter registration and register to vote. Library volunteers will staff a voter registration table at two of our libraries: Airway Heights and Spokane Valley. One session of training is required to volunteer. Adults Registration is required. On National Voter Registration Day, volunteers and library staff will be available at all of our libraries to help you update your voter registration and register to vote. Every year millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, forget to update their registration, or aren’t sure how to register.
