2. PSC hears from residents on West Virginia American Water rate increase requests (wvmetronews.com) — Charleston-area water customers could see higher bills as the Public Service Commission hears public comments on West Virginia-American Water’s proposed $46 million water and $1.4 million sewer rate hikes. At Monday’s Charleston hearing, one resident backed increases tied to stricter standards, while another Charleston native warned her already doubled bill shows families can’t absorb much more.

3. Record-breaking $1.1 billion Powerball jackpot set for Monday drawing (wvnews.com) — Charleston residents eyeing a big win should know Monday’s Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $1.1 billion, with a $503.4 million cash option. 4. West Virginia leaders honor victims of the Silver Bridge collapse and renew commitment to bridge safety (wdtv.com) — State leaders gathered in Charleston to honor the 46 victims of the 1967 Silver Bridge collapse and to stress ongoing bridge safety across West Virginia. 5. MSHA to ‘reconsider' rule on protecting miners from silica exposure (safetyandhealthmagazine.com) — A federal mine-safety rule affecting silica dust exposure is being reconsidered, and a Charleston-based TV station interviewed a workers’ attorney who insists the law forbids weakening protections. The rule, now paused amid litigation and agency delays, aims to cut miners’ exposure to silica dust linked to black lung.
