Cabell-Huntington syringe program to end Tuesday (wvmetronews.com) ā Huntington residents who rely on the Cabell-Huntington Health Departmentās syringe program should know it ends Tuesday, though other harm-reduction services will continue. Health officials say theyāll still offer treatment referrals, infectious disease testing, education, and free Naloxone, while working to expand on-site care for hepatitis and HIV for the roughly 600 people they serve each year.

Marshall provides updates on IDEA District, Institute for Cybersecurity (wsaz.com) ā Huntington residents are getting a clearer picture of the IDEA District and the new Institute for Cybersecurity rising just west of Marshallās campus. City and university leaders say the 73,000-square-foot facility, labs, and first-floor restaurant should drive jobs, attract students, and keep more graduates living and working in Huntington as construction continues through 2027.

3. Update on SSgt. Andrew Wolfe's condition shows major improvements (wsaz.com) ā Huntington readers following SSgt. Andrew Wolfeās story will be encouraged to hear his condition is steadily improving, with him beginning to speak again after being shot in Washington, D.C. His mother says heās surpassing expectations physically, but now needs support and prayers as he struggles with the emotional and mental toll of a long hospital stay and limited independence.

Needle Arthroscopy for Partial Meniscectomy Reduces Postoperative Opioid Use (clinicalpainadvisor.com) ā A Marshall University orthopedic surgeon in Huntington helped show that using needle arthroscopy for partial meniscectomy can significantly cut immediate post-surgery opioid use compared with standard knee arthroscopy. Patients in the less-invasive procedure reported less pain and better early knee function, supporting ongoing efforts in Huntington and beyond to reduce reliance on opioid painkillers after surgery.
