3. Deputies: Morgantown advocate charged with obstructing police at homeless shelter (wvmetronews.com) — A Morgantown nonprofit leader connected to Project Rainbow and Grace Shelter has been charged with obstructing law enforcement after deputies responded to a call at Rainbow House Tuesday night. Court records say she allegedly blocked deputies from entering and investigating, while she has pleaded not guilty and is free on bond. The case raises questions around operations at local shelters heavily used by first responders.
   

4. Morgantown man pleads guilty to failing to register as sex offender (wvva.com) — A Morgantown man has admitted in federal court that he failed to keep his sex offender registration current following a 2024 child pornography conviction. Prosecutors say the violation falls under federal SORNA rules, which govern tracking offenders across jurisdictions. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a lengthy period of supervised release at sentencing next March.
   

5. United Way delivers goods to seniors across Monongalia and Preston counties (wdtv.com) — United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties, based in Morgantown, just delivered more than 1,000 food and hygiene bags directly to low-income seniors across Monongalia and Preston counties. Volunteers reached 280 households, offering protein, produce, and cleaning supplies to help older residents stretch tight budgets through the holidays and calling for more community members to join future efforts.
