Here are the top three stories today in Parkersburg:

  1. With summer quickly approaching, the Parkersburg YMCA released a preview of what events are in store for the season and recent renovations to improve the facility for public use. The Y highlighted some of the bigger events and activities coming for this summer including the Camp Navigator, Mud Run, volleyball training, swimming lessons, and more. Renovations include work on the men's and women's locker rooms. (WTAP)
  2. The Giving Cup is looking to expand its reach in Parkersburg by opening a second location on the south side of the city, tentatively scheduled for the end of June. The Giving Cup is a donation-based coffee and drink shop operated by the Williamson Bank. The original location is inside the Lubeck branch of the Williamson Bank. The coffee shop hopes the new location will expand the footprint of the shop and add more potential beneficiaries. (WTAP)
  3. On Jun. 3, the YMCA of Parkersburg will be hosting its third annual Mud Run in the city of Vienna starting at 9:30 a.m. In addition to the regular Mud Run activities every year, there will be a new event welcoming teams of five to compete for the Mud Run Cup and the title of 2024 Mud Run. You can register either online or in person at the Vienna Rec Center. YMCA members will receive a discount for their admission. (Parkersburg News)
