Wood County commissioners approved a policy setting minimum safety and operating standards for shelters, aiming to better coordinate pop-up sites, protect volunteers and guests, and avoid last winter’s confusion over where people could go.

Parkersburg South beats Capital 81-69 thank to record-breaking night from Silvis (wtap.com) — Parkersburg fans saw history as Parkersburg South’s Harry Silvis poured in 44 points to set a new single-game school scoring record in an 81-69 win over Capital. The Patriots controlled the game despite several late Capital runs, with key contributions from teammates like Baron Davis, Darius Thomas, and others to secure the home victory.
