WISCONSIN — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources issued an air quality advisory for northern Wisconsin due to smoke from forest fires.
The northern half of the state, including Trempealeau, Outgamie and Brown counties, are under the air quality advisory, the department said.
Smoke from the Greenwood fire in northeast Minnesota and fires in Ontario, Canada are spreading into northern Wisconsin, the department said.

This makes the air unhealthy and impacts groups like small children, the elderly and people with respiratory or cardiac problems.
The smoke is expected to spread east and southeast throughout the day, the department said.
