Over 2,500 Daily Coronavirus Cases Set New Wisconsin Record

According to the latest data from Wisconsin health officials, 2,533 people tested positive in the past 24 hours.

WISCONSIN— A day after hitting 2,000 cases, Wisconsin is now at a new record with over 2,500 positive daily coronavirus cases on Friday.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services daily tally, the newest data set an all-time high to date.

According to the state's report, 2,533 people tested positive as of Friday. The positivity rate was 19.4% on Friday. The state now has 97,279 cumulative COVID-19 cases since the first case was reported in February. There have been 1,238 deaths reported.

To date, 83,184 people have recovered from the virus. There are 12,839 people who have active COVID-19 cases, according state health numbers.

That last figure represents 10 percent of all COVID-19 cases ever reported in Wisconsin.
