GREEN BAY, WI — The Aaron Rodgers era is over in Wisconsin. The Green Bay Packers have reportedly agreed on a significant deal to send MVP QB Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets.

In addition to securing Rodgers, the Jets receive a 2023 fifth-round pick draft (No. 170), reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Meanwhile, the Packers will get: the no. 13 2023 draft pick, a 2023 second-round pick (No. 42), a sixth-round pick (No. 207), and a conditional 2024 second-round (which will become a first-rounder if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the plays).

With the trade finalized, Rodgers will again be following in the footsteps of his predecessor, Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre. The Packers traded Favre to the Jets in 2008 after the organization drafted Rodgers.

Favre signed with the Minnesota Vikings a year later, leading them to a division title and a trip to the NFC Championship.

Rodgers is expected to change his jersey number from 12 to 8 — the number he wore at the University of California-Berkeley — when he lands in New York.
