Here's How Much Snow And Ice Fell On Wisconsin Wednesday
As southeast Wisconsin was hit by sleet, freezing rain and snow Wednesday, other parts of the state saw around a foot of snow, the NWS said.

WISCONSIN — As parts of southeast Wisconsin recover from Wednesday's wallop of freezing rain and sleet, other parts of the state are digging themselves out of nearly a foot of snow, Thursday's totals from the National Weather Service showed.
The winter storm system moved into southeast Wisconsin by Wednesday morning, causing slippery and ice-covered roadways alongside power outages for over 30,000 We Energies customers in the region. By Wednesday afternoon, authorities in Waukesha declared a state of emergency amid the sleet and encouraged people to avoid travel.
The highest totals for snow coverage appeared in the western parts of the state. The NWS in La Crosse said 13 inches was reported near Neilsville, Tomah and Necedah, with a glazing of ice around. Meanwhile, southeast Wisconsin saw lower snow totals but some parts of the region reported over 0.5 inches of ice, according to the NWS in Milwaukee/Sullivan.

The region near Elkhorn, Burlington, Kenosha and Racine reported the highest ice totals with some areas seeing nearly .75 inches of ice. Parts of Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties north of Interstate 94 saw closer to 0.1 inches of ice, while parts south of Interstate 94 saw around .25 inches of ice, according to the NWS.
Snow cover varied across Waukesha and Milwaukee Counties, averaging around 2 inches with higher totals further north. West Bend saw nearly 6 inches of snow, according to the NWS.
