Deluna was released from prison on May 20, 2019, and signed documents indicating that he understood that he was required to register as a sex offender.
However, after he was released from prison, he moved to Oklahoma and did not register as a sex offender, prosecutors said. Deluna traveled from Oklahoma to Princeton, Wisconsin in September 2023 and began using the alias of "Cody Banks," according to authorities. He was eventually arrested in Princeton.
