Packers Place Back-Up Quarterback Jordan Love On COVID-19 List
Love is vaccinated, which indicates he tested positive for COVID-19 and leaves who backs up Aaron Rodgers against the Bears in question.

GREEN BAY, WI — Green Bay Packers back-up quarterback Jordan Love was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list on Monday, which may throw the team’s depth chart at the position into limbo for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday at Lambeau Field.
Love is the second Packers quarterback to be placed on the COVID-19 list after starter Aaron Rodgers missed a game earlier this season after testing positive. The difference is that Love has been fully vaccinated, which means he just needs to test negative twice within a 24-hour period before he is permitted to return.
Because he is vaccinated, the fact the Packers placed him on the list means Love tested positive for COVID-19. The NFL does not report confirmed cases among players, but vaccinated players are only put on the list if they test positive while unvaccinated players may be put on the list if they came into close contact with someone who tested positive.

The Packers are coming off of a bye week and so the teammates that could be considered a close contact to Love may be more limited than in a normal game week.
The Packers only have Rodgers and Love listed on their depth chart as Kurt Benkert is on the practice squad. Either Benkert or Blake Bortles — who was signed temporarily when Rodgers missed the Packers’ game against the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this year while on the COVID-19 list — could see time in practice this week.

Love has appeared in two games this season and made his first career start against the Chiefs in Rodgers’ absence. He threw for 190 yards on 19-for-34 passing with one touchdown and one interception in a 13-7 loss.
Rodgers has missed time in practice of late while he has been nursing a toe injury, which means that Benkert will likely see time with the Packers’ starting offense this week as the Packers prepare to face their arch-rival on Sunday.
